The big breach: the leveee gave way and a tremendous flood of Mega Blocks, frying pans, year-old suits and cassettes of 80s pop poured into the lowlands. In a matter of minutes the worst was over, and the flow diminished, but the damage was done. The workers labored long to clear away the wreckage.

Big set-up. A clear and cool day until mid-afternoon; things went pretty smoothly. A few departments got moved and the chair of one looked lost among her new racks and furnishings. We count up the concerns and losses and blessings of the past few months, talk of the hard weather and major events, and build our city all over again.

More tent work today. Because the barns were inaccessible, no volunteers were there, even those most anxious to get started.

It seemed unlikely after the strong winds which blew all nightlong, but the tents started going up today. The first was up by 12:30, and two more were spread out on the ground ready to be lifted.
